At Metal Solutions, supporting our team goes beyond the workplace. On Saturday, our very own Jordan Crook took first place at the Maverick Lakes Osprey 2025, a brutal 52km ultramarathon with 2,858m of elevation, conquering seven peaks along the way. He crossed the finish line in an impressive 6hr 27min, proudly donning his Metal Solutions cap! This impressive victory was the culmination of months or training and dedication, a true test of metal strength and physical stamina.
The route started in Grasmere and took a rugged climb towards Easdale Tarn and then on to the impressive Stickle Tarn, which is set in a wide bowl and overlooked by Pavey Ark and Harrison Stickle, these peaks once formed part of the rim of a wide volcano. The epic trail run, continued with a head back down the Cumbria way towards Greater Langdale where runners followed the river making their way towards Loughrigg Tarn. The trail provided stunning views among ancient woodlands.
In true Maverick fashion, the organisers saved the most gruelling section until the final third with a mighty climb to the top of Rydal Head and the Fairfield Horseshoe. Soaking up the most incredible views from this famous summit, runners were rewarded for heroic efforts. From here it was a technical descent on exhausted legs back down to the venue in Grasmere where friends and family nervously awaited arrivals.
It’s great to see our team members achieving their goals, on and off the job. Congratulations, Jordan!
