BENEFITS AND CHARACTERISTICS
FalZinc combines lightweight aluminium with the natural appearance and weathering characteristics of zinc. Its metallic surface gradually develops a patina, while the underlying seawater-resistant aluminium alloy provides corrosion resistance. Roof pitch and exposure conditions can influence the weathering process, with steeper pitches generally encouraging more even weathering through improved rainwater runoff and self-cleaning.
Anodised aluminium retains the natural metallic character of aluminium with a more stable, consistent appearance. The anodising process enhances the protective oxide layer, providing a durable surface with good colour stability while preserving the appearance of the underlying metal.
Precoated aluminium offers greater control over colour, texture and consistency through a wide selection of factory-applied finishes. These include finishes inspired by naturally weathered metals, making precoated aluminium particularly suitable where a specific colour or more uniform appearance is required.
Sustainability and service life are important considerations when specifying aluminium roofing and cladding. Aluminium is fully recyclable and can be repeatedly recycled without losing its fundamental material properties. Its durability and long service life can also help reduce the need for replacement, subject to appropriate specification, installation and maintenance.
