Grand Designs show on 9th October 2024 was particularly interesting and entertaining. In the show Kara and Jonny build a striking stone and zinc home in West Yorkshire’s rolling hills. The challenges come thick and fast but in true Grand Designs fashion, they manage to not only snatch victory but also set the standard for accessible design.
Wighton Architects did an exceptional job on this project navigating building in the curtilage of a grade II listed house and also in the green belt. The construction included an wonderful range of materials, fittings and design choices not least the Earth Brown Zintek Zinc supplied by Metal Solutions. It came on our radar when we asked for some project examples. Keith from North West Metal Roofing Ltd in his true modest way, directed us to watch the show as “…some people thought it was a decent enough job”.
We are glad we did, amazing work from the North West Metal Roofing team with flawlessly installed standing seam roofing and cladding using Zintek Zinc. The Earth Brown colour choice worked perfectly in the beautiful West Yorkshire hills location. If you missed the show, it is well worth a watch and should still be available on-demand. Here are the edited highlights.
